History
Department of Econometrics was constituted in 2010 within Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Dumlupinar University, Kutahya. The department is composed of three main science branches, statistics, econometrics and operations research.
Qualification Awarded
Department of Econometrics is subject to 240 ECTS credits in the fields of econometrics science.When the program is completed successfully and programs qualifications are met, Bachelor degree is achieved in the field of econometrics.
Admission Requirements
Candidates have to have a high school diploma or its equivalent, and get an adequate score at University Entrance Exam.
Higher Grade Transition
Graduates, who have successfully completed undergraduate degree, providing at least minimum acceptable ALES (Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam) score and have a sufficient command on a foreign language, may apply to graduate programmes in Turkey or abroad.
Graduation Requirements
Students should fulfill 240 ECTS which has been predetermined at department programme including must and elective courses.In addition Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) must be at least 2.00/4.00 to earn Bachelor's degree for Econometrics.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Department of Econometrics graduates that take courses in applied training, find opportunities to work in both public and private sectors. They can work at state planning organization and Turkish statistical institute; especially they can work at research and development centers, planning and quality control departments of the firms. Besides, they have opportunities to find jobs in banking, finance, insurance sectors and in research firms.
Assessment and Grading
Each student has to register for the classes at the beginning of the term, and she/he has to attend at least 70% of the classes to be able to enter the final exam. Students are made to take at least one mid-term and one final examination for each of the courses during a semester. The final grade for success is calculated by taking in account 40% of the mid-term grade and 60% of the final examination grade. A student is successful if she/he receives AA, BA, BB, CB and CC as the letter grade from a class. The letter grades of DC and DD stand for conditional success. In these cases, in order for a student to be successful from the class, her/his Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) should be at least 2.0.
