About Programme
Türkçe Eğitimi Ana Bilim Dalı, Türkçe öğretmeni yetiştirmek amacıyla Kütahya Dumlupınar Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi bünyesinde eğitim-öğretim faaliyetlerini sürdürmektedir. Türkçe Öğretmenliği Lisans Programı dört yıllık olup eğitim dili Türkçedir. Program ortaokullarda görev yapacak Türkçe öğretmenlerinin alan bilgisi, meslek bilgisi ve genel kültür bakımından yetiştirilmesini; öğrencilerin mesleki bilgi ve deneyimlerinin yanı sıra kişisel, sosyal ve kültürel gelişimlerinin desteklenmesini amaçlamaktadır. Ana bilim dalında lisans eğitiminin yanı sıra Türkçe eğitimi alanında lisansüstü eğitim faaliyetleri de yürütülmektedir.
The Department of Turkish Language Education carries out its educational activities within the Faculty of Education at Kütahya Dumlupınar University with the primary aim of training Turkish language teachers. The Turkish Language Teaching Undergraduate Program is a four-year program and its language of instruction is Turkish. The program aims to educate Turkish language teachers who are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to meet the needs of both the country and the contemporary age, while also supporting students’ professional, personal, social and cultural development. In addition to undergraduate education, graduate programs in the field of Turkish language education are also offered.

History
The Faculty of Education at Kütahya Dumlupınar University was established pursuant to Decision No. 99/12628 dated 12 March 1999 and began admitting students in the 2003-2004 academic year. Since the 2004-2005 academic year, the Faculty has continued its educational activities in its building located on the Evliya Çelebi Campus. The Department of Turkish Language Education was established within the Faculty of Education to educate Turkish language teachers.
Qualification Awarded
The program is a first-cycle undergraduate program comprising 240 ECTS credits in the field of Turkish Language Education. Students who successfully complete the program and fulfil the program competencies are awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Turkish Language Education.
Admission Requirements
Admission to the Turkish Language Teaching Undergraduate Program is carried out through the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) administered by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) in accordance with the relevant higher education regulations. Students enrolled in an equivalent higher education program in Türkiye or abroad may apply for horizontal transfer provided that they meet the requirements stipulated in the relevant regulations.
Higher Grade Transition
Graduates who meet the admission requirements of the relevant graduate programs may apply to master ` s programs in Turkish Language Education and related fields. They may subsequently continue their graduate education at the doctoral level provided that they fulfil the relevant admission requirements.
Graduation Requirements
The Turkish Language Teaching Undergraduate Program consists of eight semesters. In order to graduate, students must successfully complete the compulsory and elective courses included in the curriculum and achieve a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.00 out of 4.00.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates of the Turkish Language Teaching Undergraduate Program may work as Turkish language teachers in public and private schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, subject to the relevant legislation and appointment requirements. Graduates may also work in publishing and media organizations, educational and cultural institutions in Türkiye and abroad, archives and museums, Turkology centers, and public or private organizations related to Turkic Republics. They may also work in institutions and centers providing Turkish language education to people of Turkish origin and learners of Turkish as a foreign language.
Assessment and Grading
Course-specific assessment and evaluation methods are specified in the information packages of the relevant courses. Assessment and evaluation processes are conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Kütahya Dumlupınar University Examination Directive. Within the scope of the Directive, students’ academic achievement is assessed through midterm, final, resit, and midterm make-up examinations.
